THINKING HISTORIES

The main goal of this project is to develop digital educational materials that help the teaching of history generate a complex and reflective view of the past, as well as the pursuit of inquiry by students.
The project “Pensar la historia” is an R&D initiative on the teaching of history, funded by FUAM (Spain) and FLACSO-Argentina (Area of Psychology of Knowledge and Learning), as well as the Mineco-FEDER Funds of the Spanish Research Agency (PID2021-1275290BI00 and PDC-2022-133204100) and the ANPCYT of Argentina (PICT2019-02477). It has a total funding of 250,000 euros and is coordinated by M. Carretero y M. Rodríguez-Moneo . The researchers involved are: A. Barreiro, I. Bresco, J. A. Castorina, C. López, C. Parellada, E. Perez-Manjarrez, F. Van Alphen, M. Cantabrana, M. Guggiari y M. Gutiérrez-Cano.

MODULES

The project has currently produced five modules, aimed at Secondary and Baccalaureate students, and those interested in historical issues: Thinking with Maps, Gender and Nation, 1521: The Fall of Tenochtitlan, Rethinking the Spanish Reconquest, and Pasts in Conflict.
The following themes are in production: The Memory of the EU’s Colonial Experiences, Islam in Europe and European Nationalisms.
